DIVING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Scuba diving in the Philippines offers a breathtaking experience to all divers enthusiast around the world because of its spectacular marine life. The water temperatures are very comfortable year-round, ranging from about 26-32C during summer to 22-26C during the cold months, allowing for diving in skin suits or 3mm wetsuits. Most Philippines diving is from motorized outrigger boats called bancas.

In 2006, a study by the Smithsonian Institute together with a team of marine conversationalists declared the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines to be the  “center of the center of marine shorefish biodiversity” in the world. It has the biggest marine life concentration in the world with approximately 1,700 marine species and three exemplary dive spots - the Washing Machine, the Drop-off and the Black Fish Pinnacle. Verde Island is thus dubbed by scientists as “the world’s blue water version of the Amazon River basin” and one of the best diving places in the Philippines - definitely a must see for divers.

Puerto Galera is also one of the best scuba diving spots in Asia. The diversity of hard and soft corals, along with hundreds of species of tropical fish life makes Puerto Galera one of the most popular dive destinations in the Philippines.
